Mar 1, 2016: Sun Herald: Exclusive: Clay Jones will be D'Iberville's next city manager 
Mayor Rusty Quave said the city wanted to promote from within. Jones was hired under a one-year contract until the 2017 municipal election is over and at that time the new council can take applications for city manager from Jones and others interested in the job.

Wayne Tiblier, a D'Iberville resident who has been diagnosed with ALS, was in attendance last week when D'Iberville Mayor Rusty Quave proclaimed September as ALS Awareness Month. The Walk to Defeat ALS raises money that allows chapters to offer care services and support research for the coming year.

Mayor Rusty Quave said it could be closer to $10 million to pay for a new fire truck and a water tank near the resort. The ladder truck, the city’s second, it will have a platform for fighting fires and a 100-foot reach.

I asked him if he raised money for Mayor Rusty Quave during his bid for re-election.  Eleuterius said yes he did.  He was one of eight people to raise about $7,000 for the mayor's campaign.  When the criticism about that connection between campaign and the city manager's job made headlines, Eleuterius realized he wanted no part of the public spotlight anymore.

D'Iberville's mayor may be forced to file for bankruptcy protection. Rusty Quave is shutting down his family's grocery store. Consequently, he may default on an SBA loan he got after Katrina to rebuild the grocery.
