As city leaders continue to look for ways to enhance Meridian's most historic park, one county supervisor is offering suggestions. Lauderdale County Supervisor Joe Norwood represents District Four. Highland Park is in that district. Norwood is offering city leaders a suggestion that he thinks will increase usage at the park, and also ease overcrowding at the nearby Boys and Girls Club.

The ruling said supervisors violated the Open Meetings Act. Supervisors Josh Todd, Hank Florey and Joe Norwood voted for the appeal, while Wayman Newell and Kyle Rutledge voted against it. Several county residents voiced their concerns about the legal fees associated with the appeal at Tuesday night's meeting.
