Jan 19, 2015: WDAM: Cattle theft investigation by MDAC leads to arrests
Jeff Stewart, director of MALTB, says livestock theft is still a problem in Mississippi. Stewart added that a brand is like a return address for livestock. Stewart would also like to encourage everyone to invest in some type of security precautions, such as game cameras or motion activated video recorders.

Jeff Stewart, director of MALTB, says livestock theft is still a problem in Mississippi and referenced another recent case his office completed that involved the theft and further arrest of five suspects for stealing 91 head of cattle. He added that a brand can be considered a serial number for livestock and a good insurance policy for livestock owners against theft.
