"If Joe can show how it will work, and he can work closely with Meridian CAO Mike McGrevey and show what the actual benefit is," says Markham, "and if it will actually benefit those kids, then I think the council can discuss it. "The two biggest things I wanted to bring to city government was accountability and transparency. Tonight, our citizens were able to hear from their community leaders and issues were addressed. We learned about our goals for 2015 and we found positive solutions for the issues that were raised."

Williamson Jr. Each council member gave responses after the ceremony.
