May 26, 2015: Jackson Jambalaya: Judge declares convenience store a public nuisance
Today, a hearing took place in front of the Honorable Chancellor Denise Sweet-Owens regarding the request filed by the District Attorney of Hinds County and the Jackson's City Attorney's Office to declare 905 West Northside Drive convenience store a public nuisance, as well as the placement of a preliminary injunction against use of the property.

In her order, Hinds County Chancery Judge Denise Owens also awarded attorneys' fees for "wrongful denial of access to records."

"You all worked hard on this, and I appreciate it as a citizen and fairgoer," Chancery Judge Denise Sweet Owens said after the agreement was announced in her courtroom.
