Charlie Fazende started his full-time law enforcement career in 1989 with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department and worked his way up to Patrol Commander. In 1993 he was appointed as Unit Commander for the Pearl River Basin Narcotics Task Force, a multi-jurisdictional narcotics law enforcement unit which encompassed the entire Fifteenth Judicial District including Pearl River, Lamar, Marion, Lawrence, and Jeff Davis Counties. Their job was primarily focused on making felony drug cases. In 1995 he went to work for the Poplarville Police Department. In 1997 he was appointed as Chief of Police.
