McRae raised $251,729 with $160,046 cash-on-hand. Even without the $125,000 McRae and his wife put into the campaign he still outraised the incumbent. Fitch has since fired her campaign manager and staff and hired political consultant Morgan Baldwin who currently is directing the Trent Kelly campaign in the First Congressional District special election to fill the seat of the late Congressman Alan Nunnelee.
