​July 19, 2021: Magnolia State Live:  ​State lawmaker about state’s rising coronavirus cases: “Well Mississippi- you wanted it here it is.”
​A Mississippi lawmaker posted on social media that state residents are about to reap the “consequences of not getting vaccinated and poor mask wearing.”
State Representative Jeramey Anderson from Mississippi’s 110th district posted his comments on Twitter.
“Well Mississippi- you wanted it here it is,” Anderson posted. “This is ridiculous and the deaths that will definitely follow were completely avoidable.”

Rep. Jeramey Anderson, D-Gulfport, is tackling criminal-justice reform from another angle: police accountability and transparency. Anderson's House Bill 790 would require the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation to probe all officer-involved deaths. The state attorney general must then "determine whether the results of the investigation should be presented to the grand jury." If a grand jury is convened, the attorney general would then appoint a state attorney as a special prosecutor, formalizing the process for prosecuting unjustified police killings.

It's been a busy day for congressional candidate Jeramey Anderson. Earlier, he met with the family of Vernon Dahmer, the Forrest County civil-rights leader who died in 1966 after the Ku Klux Klan firebombed his home. Now, sitting at the local Shrimp Basket just across from the University of Southern Mississippi on Sept. 21, the 26-year-old state representative marvels at a supporter's Facebook comment.Jeramey Anderson (born December 6, 1991) is an American politician serving as a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives from the 110th district. Upon election in 2013, Anderson became the youngest African-American candidate to be elected to any legislature in the United States.

At the age of 16, Jeramey founded a non-profit organization known as the Foundation for a Brighter America, which is dedicated to serving as a mentoring organization to young boys ages 11-18. Now, he serves as the program's Executive Director.

​Mississippi Rep. Jeramey Anderson of Escatawpa announced on Friday, Nov. 3, that he will seek the 2018 Democratic nomination for Mississippi's 4th Congressional District seat in the United States House of Representatives.
Rep. Steven Palazzo, a Republican from the Gulf Coast, has held the seat since 2011 and may face Republican challengers in the primary election before facing Anderson.

​State Rep. Jeramey Anderson, D-Moss Point, announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives on Friday.
“In today’s society bipartisanship isn’t an option anymore – it is a requirement if we are to effectively confront the real crises facing not only our state but the nation as well,” Anderson said in a press release. “We’re leading the effort in our state to break through partisan gridlock to re-establish political cooperation and I would like to take that to Washington.”

Anderson became the youngest member to serve in the Mississippi Legislature after he won a special election runoff in November 2013. He represents District 110 in Jackson County on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Anderson was sworn in on his 22nd birthday.
